Fresh TikTok Stats: Our 2026 Research Update
Published on 15th of October 2026Ever opened TikTok to check one video and ended up learning a recipe, comparing a product and watching someone restore an old chair? A lot happens in that little app. And if you create content, run a business or simply love knowing what everyone is up to, there are plenty of questions to ask.
Who's using TikTok? What are people searching for? How do your videos compare with other creators'? And where is the platform heading next?
We've been busy digging into those questions. Our updated TikTok statistics page and guide to TikTok trends, popularity and usage are now live, with fresh research, new graphics and more ways to put the numbers to work. We're excited to show you around.

A lot of research, all in one place
We love an interesting statistic. We love it even more when you can see where it came from and what it actually means.
For this update, we went back through original reports, surveys and TikTok announcements. We checked when the information was collected, who it described and how each number was measured. That meant following source links, reading the details behind the charts and keeping useful older findings alongside newer ones.
The statistics page now brings together 224 dated figures and findings, with 34 sources to explore. You'll find research from publishers including DataReportal, Pew Research Center, Metricool and Sensor Tower, plus figures published by TikTok itself.
These are findings we've collected and organised from those publishers' work. The original research remains theirs, and you'll find the sources beside the figures so you can keep exploring.
Meet your new TikTok numbers companion
Let's say you're planning a video. You have an idea, a camera and possibly a very patient friend holding the light. What would help you make the next decision?
Our refreshed statistics page gives you a few places to start:
- Audience and usage: explore who uses TikTok and how people use it for viewing, searching and news.
- Countries and demographics: compare selected markets and get a clearer picture of the audiences behind the headline numbers.
- Creator benchmarks: look at research on posting, video length, views and engagement, with the study details close by.
- Shopping and moderation: see another side of the app, from marketplace forecasts to TikTok's quarterly reporting.
We've added graphics and practical takeaways to help you find your feet. If you want to dig deeper, open the research sections for the tables, definitions and sources.
Curious about a particular subject? You can search the statistics and filter the results, then copy a citation or download the available data as a CSV. Some figures have download restrictions, so their source links are there for you to follow instead.
Yes, the dates matter too
A report with “2026” in its title might describe research collected in 2025. An advertising audience estimate answers a different question from a survey asking people whether they use TikTok. And a forecast is still a forecast, even when the year it predicts has arrived.
We've kept those details visible throughout the update. You'll see the relevant periods, what the numbers count and where comparisons need a little care.
That also means keeping some history. Earlier studies can still give you useful context, especially when you're wondering how posting habits or video formats have changed. The page includes current and historical research; all 224 observations belong to their own dates.
The bigger story behind the numbers
Sometimes you want a quick fact. Other times, you want to sit down and ask, “Okay, what does all of this mean for my account?”
That's where our updated trends guide comes in. It follows TikTok's development from 2023 through 2026, looking at search, shopping, audience habits and the choices creators face today.
You'll find ideas for turning a viewer's question into a useful video, choosing a market that fits your business and deciding what a good result looks like before you post. We've also added a look ahead at what 2027 could bring. That part shares possibilities we're watching, with plenty of room for TikTok to surprise us.
Now, make the numbers yours
Reading about other accounts is interesting. Learning something useful about your own account is where the fun starts.
Try the engagement calculator with the figures from one of your videos. You can calculate by views or followers and see how the formula changes. It's a handy way to understand a percentage before comparing it with a study.
Then grab the free progress worksheet. Add your posts, their results and a few notes about what you tried. Give similar videos the same time to find viewers, and you'll have a clearer record to learn from when planning the next one.
We put a lot of care into collecting and checking this research, and we're happy to have it ready for you. Pick a question, open the page and see where it takes you. Your next video idea might be waiting in the numbers.
