How to Find and Manage Your TikTok Comments
Published on 4th of March 2025Contents
Anyone who creates content on TikTok wants people to watch and comment on their videos. Whether you are an influencer or business owner, you want your content to reach people for various reasons.
However, if you are new to TikTok or your comment section is suddenly blowing up, you may find managing all the interactions you get difficult. Fortunately, you can follow several strategies to manage your comments so they don’t become a headache.
How to Get To Your Comment History
If you have not used TikTok before, you may not even know where to find comments on your videos. They are easy to find if you log into the app, go to your profile, and select any specific video. Tap on the speech bubble icon to the right, which will display all comments made by viewers.
If you want to find your own comment history, go to your profile and tap on the three horizontal lines on the top right. Tap on Settings and Privacy, select Activity Center, and then tap Comment History. This will bring up all your comments on various videos.
Should you want to delete a comment, tap on it, and you will be directed to the relevant comment section and video. Your comment will be at the top, where you can long-press and delete.
Remember to turn on the comments option in the first place. You can turn them on globally or only for certain comments. If your goal is to get a lot of interaction, you should just leave comments enabled.
Deleting Comments Using a Web Browser
If you need to delete a lot of comments, you can do it via a web browser as well. Open the TikTok website and hover over your avatar icon. Click View profile and select the relevant video. Go to the comments and select the one you want to delete. Click on the three dots to the right and select Delete.
Moderating TikTok Comments
When you start receiving a lot of comments on your videos, keep in mind that not all of them will be positive. You may also notice spam or bots popping up in between regular comments.
If your TikTok engagement is still in the early stages, you can moderate your comments directly in the app. It is best to do this if you only have one TikTok account that has not received too many comments yet.
Also, remember that you will have to open the app each time you get a notification if you want to check and moderate each comment. You can reply to, hide, or delete the associated comment with every notification.
Should your engagement increase rapidly, you want to use a comment management tool to help weed out spam and offensive content.
Filtering Comments on TikTok
While you monitor your comments section, you can filter the comments you do not want to see. This means hiding comments until you can approve or delete them. You can filter spam comments and those made by bots. You can even filter comments that contain specific keywords.
All you need to do is return to Settings and Privacy, Privacy, and Comments. Here, you will find all the options you can choose from. These include Filter all comments, Filter specific keywords, Filter unwanted comments, and Review filtered comments.
You can manually set these settings or use software that filters for you.
Hiding Comments on TikTok Live
If you use the TikTok Live feature, you will get comments throughout a live session. If you get too many comments during a live session, you may want to turn off the commenting option before you start. You can also make changes while you are streaming.
Access the' setup' screen to turn off comments before you go live. Tap Settings, select Comments, and toggle the button. This will block comments from the beginning to the end of the live stream.
You can enable comment filters if you want to allow some comments but do not want potentially offensive words popping up. Should any off-topic or spam comments come through, they will be hidden.
When you have started streaming, you can still hide comments if necessary. Tap the three dots in the corner of the screen that open Live settings. Under these settings, you will find a comments option, which you can toggle off.
Should comments still come through, try restarting your stream. It also helps to update the app whenever an update becomes available, so you do not have technical issues during live streams.
Using Comments To Drive TikTok Engagement
When you manage your TikTok comments correctly, you can prevent unwanted engagement while working on valuable engagement.
Once you have blocked and filtered the comments you do not want to see, you can start working on getting the right kind of comments on your videos.
The easiest way to get reactions from your target audience is to ask questions. This works especially well for influencers and brands. If you have a business, you should be asking questions about what your audience wants to see more and less of.
When you present questions like these, you will quickly learn what your followers expect. It is also a great way to build a relationship with potential customers.
If you sell products via TikTok, you can also ask for feedback or suggestions from your followers. Sometimes, this leads to lightbulb moments that could result in a new product or idea.
Remember to engage with those who leave genuine comments on your videos. The point is to acknowledge your audience and show them that you appreciate their interest in your content, products, or services. You can also return the favor and leave comments on videos created by your followers.
